Learn about the Project!

The City of Kyle has engaged Stantec to update its Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Master Plan, as well as to develop a Master Plan for the Sportsplex site. Select one of the two headers below for more information on each.

Kyle Park, Recreation and Open Space Master Plan

What Is Park, Recreation and Open Space Master Plan?

The City of Kyle's Park Master Plan is a strategic blueprint designed to guide the development, management, and enhancement of Kyle’s parks, recreational facilities, and open spaces over the next 10-20 years. This plan takes a comprehensive look at the current state of Kyle's parks, assessing existing facilities and identifying future needs based on community input, demographic trends, and environmental considerations unique to Kyle. The plan ensures that Kyle's park system evolves in a way that meets the needs of its rapidly growing population, supports public health, enhances environmental sustainability, and improves the overall quality of life for residents. With a clear plan in place, Kyle can prioritize investments, secure necessary funding, and create accessible, well-maintained green spaces that serve all members of the community, while adapting to the city’s dynamic growth and changing urban landscape.

Kyle Sports Complex Master Plan

What Is Kyle Sports Complex Master Plan?

The City of Kyle is embarking on a transformative project with the development of the Kyle Sports Complex, a major initiative that aims to significantly enhance the community's recreational offerings. Located on a 90-acre site along FM 1626 near Plum Creek Meadows Drive, the complex will serve as a hub for sports and indoor recreation, providing much-needed amenities that have been long-awaited by residents. The vision for this project, outlined in the Visioning and Feasibility Study conducted by Stantec Consulting Services, Inc., integrates community feedback and assesses key opportunities and constraints of the site.

The Kyle Sports Complex is set to become a cornerstone of the city's recreational infrastructure, connecting with existing assets like the Brick and Mortar District, nearby schools, and the broader park system. With partial funding already secured through the 2020 Park Bond, and additional funding potentially forthcoming pending voter approval, this project represents a significant investment in the city's future. Over a decade in the making, the complex is not just about building new facilities—it's about fostering a vibrant, healthy, and connected community. The development promises to be an economic catalyst, improving the quality of life for residents across Kyle and the surrounding region.
